Berenice Marlohe Copy-Cat

For the past week I have been trying out an interesting style of makeup. It's similar to my usual overdone-aunty style, just more exaggerated.

The basic pattern I follow is here, on this extraordinary blog, which is so interesting! She has an artist's eye for detail and luckily the writer's ability to explain it.
For instance, she explains contouring methods in depth. Honestly I didn't realize how versatile the taupe colour can be, till I came across her blog.

Today, inspired by this same actress (Berenice Marlohe from the James Bond film Skyfall)--she has a penchant for unique, beautiful eye makeup!--I decided to copy this 'statement liner' design.

Please excuse the terrible quality of these screenshots, this laptop is a doddering ole thing.

Gah, I hate my hyperpigmentation! Nothing covers it!
For skin, I tried out my sample of YSL Touche Eclat Foundation, which is too light, then Cover FX CC cream to try to darken it...and Lise watier concealer.
And Maybelline Timeless Toffee long-lasting lipstick was blended on as a cream blush. And Rimmel cherry kiss lipliner softened with lip-balm.

Anyway for the eyes this is:
1. Too Faced Natural eyes palette (the topmost trio of colours) --> these are great but require a primer, which I left out today. --> used the same shades on the brows too.
2. Marcelle Kajal/Kohl in waterline (it has no irritating ingredients)
3. Guerlain liquid liner (very fine and precise and easy to clean up)
4. Fyrinnae Witchy Woodland Creatures (a sparkling cool-brown/taupe) along the bottom lashes after the Too Faced dark brown
5. Wet n Wild Panther (basic black) to try and darken it to the level she had...to no avail...

It was a different kind of makeup, kind of villainous and intense. It would make a good base for heavy or unique (like Shu-style) false lashes, I think. It'd JUST balance them out enough that they wouldn't be TOO comical.

The earrings I wore...it's a fabulous design

Yay! Back to makkup shakkup gupshup... tomorrow I'll write about some awesome books I've been reading and we shall dance, we shall dance, we shall dance. We meaning me and my band of imaginary readers...Father Dougal, Petunia Merryweather, Pompeii Reigns Supreme, and Aunt Jemima.

I told a disgusting excuse for a human being that....

1. the article she was using to claim that Hamas was launching rockets on its own, was totally biased as the source of the 'information' was...dun dun dun...IDF. That's like Paul Bernardo being treated as a bystanding witness for himself, in court, and claiming it was someone else.
In order for the analogy to be perfect,
that is like Paul Bernardo claiming that his victim stabbed herself repeatedly while attempting to stab him.

2. There were plenty of articles and evidence in the past about IDF's usage of this practice (using Palestinians as 'shields')...no evidence for the reverse being true.

3. Eyewitness accounts inc. medics, journalists, that rockets were IDF's and IDF was targeting children (yet again) ---
link

Her response? 'They  must be Hamas!'
2nd response? "They want to perpetuate terrorist ideology and another Holocaust!"
Why would they want to do that...they're literally risking their lives to provide news coverage, or humanitarian aid, or medical help.
Why would that justify or excuse killing children??

I told an Israeli woman that Israel has broken 77 UN resolutions prior to this conflict, that they have a history of breaking ceasefires and claiming 'the opponent did it!' (ceasefires are purely for show for IDF), etc.

Her response?
'UN sanctions are CREATED to be broken! Their phrasing and such.'
2nd response?
'all the countries like to turn on Israel, such as Muslim nations like Pakistan and Lebanon! It's not Israel's fault!'

Her response to the mounting Palestinian death toll?
'Every nation makes mistakes.'

'The present map of Palestine was drawn by the British mandate. The Jewish people have another map which our youth and adults should strive to fulfill -- from the Nile to the Euphrates.' -David Ben Gurion

Is it any wonder that PM Net.'s psychiatrist committed suicide? This is the type of insanity and wilful blindness she was dealing with. This is Zionism.

A Fun Watch

Probably the least boring makeup video out there.

Among Many, Many Articles I've Read

http://www.btselem.org/testimonies/20140721_gaza_wissam_shuheibar
http://www.vox.com/2014/7/28/5945235/one-reason-congress-is-so-pro-israel-fundraising

Rina Andolini's latest status is heart-breaking to read:

"‪#‎gazaunderattack‬ British Academy of languages - Tal el Hawa - they targeted the ground floor - this is where I used to teach conversational english... fuel is low, food is gonna run out, we have water problems/shortages everywhere, low on meds and medical facilities...we are gonna run out of all the things that are basic things to mankind in the times we are in...."

I had a hilarious (if it weren't so sad) exchange with a pro-Zionist on a forum.

It was classic denial and defamation, accusing journalists/doctors/humanitarians on the field, who testified IDF is conducting attacks that they claim H. is/no human shields by Hamas/etc, as stemming from 'wanting another Holocaust'--just at the prospect of actual eyewitness testimony and photo evidence proving her wrong.

Not gonna bother with these people anymore. Just as bad as any other terrorist ideology (yes--I said it).

They choose to be blind and pay lip service to a bloodthirsty regime, they choose to ignore mountains and mountains of evidence that Israel is STILL conducting a mass genocide with Hamas for scapegoat--their choice.

Like I say time and time again, history proves that Jews were living in Palestine just fine before Zionists came along.

Herzl wanted all of Arabia to be cleared eventually, of 'snakes and their spawn' (aka Arabs)...well, he's getting his wish.

On the Day of Judgement, these people can face God, and see how they feel.

I'm through with trying to make anyone see reason. Just going to do my best to spread awareness, aim for peace in my daily life, and reach out to as the humanitarian causes as I can.
The main thing I care for is basic human decency.
No banner, no secret agenda, no underlying motives, unlike Zionists or anti-this/anti-that, anti-Shias/anti-Sunnis or KKK or whatever.

I don't get why Zionists always accuse anyone who calls 'em out as 'terrorists.' Or 'Holocaust seekers' ---

WTF. You can't bare your soul and be like, 'LOOK THIS IS ME! Do you see any vaguely evil/psychopathic intent here?'

When you seek only truth, and speak the truth, and your intentions aren't to hurt anyone, you don't have reason to fear anyone's ridiculous accusations. People who don't even know me...

When you're willing to call out yourself if you were at fault, and even testify against yourself, then why would you be insincere to other people? Durrr.

I'm sure liars develop a protective shell of arrogance and eventually this keeps them from being able to distinguish right/wrong, truth/lies. It follows that arrogance begets cowardice, humility doesn't.

Eid Mubarak from IDF

Following fast on the heels of the previous post, IDF murdered 10 children on the playground.. Bombed that hospital again too. Thanks IDF.

IDF tells BBC it was a 'misfiring Hamas rocket'--why do eyewitnesses say differently?
You really gonna believe IDF given their gajillion crimes in the past, recorded by video and photography both??
YOU REALLY GOING TO PRETEND TO GIVE AN UNBIASED REPORT OF A MASSACRE, AN ONGOING CONFLICT OF EPIC PROPORTIONS, WHILE CITING THE INSTIGATORS AS YOUR 'SOURCE'??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Do people not see through this? Is the world really that dumb?!??!

Picture from today- EID MUBARAK PALESTINIANS, LOVE ISRAEL

I read a post by military insider (supports Israel too) on IDF tactics--they murder their own soldiers and tell the family HAMAS KILLED HIM--masters of duplicity. Link

Picture from yesterday, at that hospital--I wonder whether this little girl survived??

They also get a kick out of it because at any time they can use the 'Hamas' card. I wonder what they were doing before Hamas? What card were they using then? Or did those massacres go unnoticed by pro-Zionists?

Ayman Mohyeldin covers it all, photos, videos, and confirmed it was IDF. Enter the smearing by pro-Zionists. Their arguments are quite hilarious if it wasn't so serious, their implications and bold statements (following in the pathological Zionist mindset): e.g. "you just want another Holocaust"! (excuse me? what's happening right now then??) "are you some kind of anti-Semite?" (my husband had a good retort for this!) " israel must kill each and every one of them, they will grow up to be terroristS otherwise" (riiiiight...cuz you killed their friends, family, and parents, destroyed their homes, dropped phosphorus and radioactive bombs on them, what else?)

I read this post from Dr. Bassel Abu Warda -he is among several doctors, tweeting live, as IDF attacked, who witnessed the atrocity -
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME IDF says: Al-Shifa Hospital and Al-Shati Camp were struck by failed rocket attacks launched by Hamas !

Similar thoughts earlier from him:
Israel admits attacking a UN shelter but denies that people died there How does that work? More than 15 Gazan died that day

Those who are working on the field, journalists like Mr. Mohy., surgeons, humanitarians, activists--I am following their posts closely, and they all confirmed that these attacks were done by IDF. Furthermore, a majority are rejecting the 'human shields' claim with scathing vehemence.
But that's not objective. Truth isn't, because Israel was founded on lies (the old 'nobody lives on this land' fib) and continues to run on it.

We live in a world of duplicity, where the victims are portrayed as perpetrators, where people perform astonishing mental gymnastics to justify oppressors.
Power and money speaks to the heartless, nothing more.

Eid

Eid Mubarak to Powa, who reads this when she's taking a break from being a super-genius-research-scientist-person. And to all my imaginary readers too! (Apart from Father Dougal, who is currently tending to his flock aka 'the barbarian...horde!' Bunch of rowdy pre-schoolers.)

We woke up to rain and saturated greenery & purdiness outside--the pond in particular, a marvel to behold.

I got (myself) a Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette! Huzzah!
And littlest got a book about a lion who likes to chirp along with 'perky parrots.'
Ole Man Jiggy Wiggy got some LUSH.

And these pictures of Palestinians celebrating Eid made my morning. Uncrushed spirit.

They were pounded with 40 airstrikes (and counting) from The Unfettered Goons BUT WHATEVS YO, EID!

Pics courtesy of Rina Andolini who wrote:
We managed to hand out 20 food parcels courtesy of an Al-Fatiha Global brother. Many families displaced from Shaji'ya, living in Gaza city with no food, no clothes, no mattresses to sleep on, no nothing. They evacuated their homes and their lives and left with nothing. They have nowhere to go back to as their homes are destroyed. Shaja'iya is destroyed.

Of course, whatever we do, it is not enough. But we will do all we can to help as much as we can in shaa Allah.
Many families do not feel comfortable with having pictures taken, and this is something I respect highly. I am here to help and not make a circus out of things.
Those who felt comfortable with it, I did take pictures with their permission.
The parcels consisted of rice, oil, olive oil, cheese, macarona, tomato paste, luncheon, fool, tea, fortified with minerals milk powder, mixed lentils, chicken stock, tuna, jam, dilute mix drink, sugar, and cleaning products.

As Maya Angelou wrote:
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

DIY Makeup Remover

In a spray bottle, mix
1/2 cup rosewater
3 tablespoons witch hazel
3 tablespoons cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil or sweet almond oil
1/2 tspn castor oil
---
Shake before use.
Spray on and allow to sit for a few seconds for the makeup to 'break down.'

Wipe off film with a warm microfibre cloth (available everywhere that sells Kit-Kat and tabloid mags), for a boost of exfoliation/deep cleaning, without irritation.

Said everything I want to say

"To the Zionist trolls who continue bringing up their top four most absurd arguments to justify these latest atrocities:
1) "Hamas fired 1,394 rockets at Israel!"
How many rockets, missiles, tank shells, cluster bombs, white phosphorous bombs, bullets, cannons and grenades has Israel unleashed on the Palestinians? It's a sad situation and only reflective of the evident bias when you can count to the 3rd decimal point the number of Hamas projectiles but be completely clueless about Israel's arsenal.
2) "Israel is defending itself. What would you do if someone was firing rockets at your country?!"
A: If I occupied a people, placed a crippling trade and economic embargo on them, placed them under siege, humiliated them daily via military and police checkpoints, controlled their water and electricity, constructed apartheid "Jewish-only roads", shot their children, bombed their schools, mosques and businsses, illegally seized their lands, destroyed their crops, demolished their homes, threw thousands of them in dungeons and treated them like sub-humans and they fired rockets at me - I would probably stop doing all of the above.
Secondly, Israel has been mass murdering the Palestinians for over 60 years - long before any rockets were fired and long before Hamas was even in existence. So this is nothing but a fallacy designed to deflect the reality of the situation and mislead others. Finally, Israel's indiscriminate use of heavy weaponry in civilian areas is a war crime, not self defense.
3) "This is Hamas's fault, they use human shields. Israel doesn't target civilians!"
A: Excuse me, when you launch an unbridled, indiscriminate attack from warships, fighter jets, tanks, artillery and helicopters on a CIVILIAN AREA - what do you expect to find there - breakdancing hobbits? When you attack civilian areas, you kill civilians. It's not Advanced Chinese Mathematics.
Gaza is the most densley populated place on earth. It's an open air prison. So when Israel fires into these areas it is going to kill and maim people every time.
Secondly, according to the Israeli Human Rights group, Beit Selem which tracks both Israel and Palestinian deaths, dozens of children as young as 4 years old were killed with gunshot wounds to the HEAD AND CHEST. Not to mention the videos coming through showing snipers killing rescuers. Bombing ambulances and hospitals also has to be the most cowardly thing a military could do. So I'm afraid this "doesn't target civilians" statement doesn't hold up the facts.
4) "Israel is the most moral and humane army in the world. Who else calls/texts people and drops leaflets warning them to evacuate before a pending attack?"
I love this one.
"Please be notified in 5 minutes, we are going to destroy your home."
In other words, Israel publicly announces to thousands of civilians their full intent to perpetrate yet another war crime and you're asking us to somehow acknowledge this as some type of humane gesture? The gall.
How about a rapist or murderer "notify" their victims by sending them text messages/leaflets that they're coming shortly to rape and murder them - does it make it any less perverse? If this is the level of desperation Zionists and their sympathisers have stooped to, then it's little wonder public opinion is God willing, starting to turn against them.
As for "evacuating"...
Have you seen a map of Gaza? If so, could you please explain to me where the Palestinians are supposed to "evacuate" to? To the north and east, they are blocked by Israeli walls and military checkpoints. To the south is Egypt's closed crossing thanks to Israel's slave, Sissy. To the west is the Mediterranean Sea. So what do they do, swim for it and hope they can make it to Cyprus or Turkey before Israel "defends itself" again and machine guns them all in the water?
Go to a UN shelter? Wait, they tried that already TWICE - once in Qana, Lebanon and once in Gaza a few years ago and Israel "defended itself" by bombing the shelters massacring a total of 352 civilians. Add to this, Israel's naval and air forces who have killed thousands of people are constantly patrolling the areas. They are surrounded from every imaginable direction and you sit from the comfort of your sofa sipping $8 coffee then froth at the mouth demanding they evacuate.
Have a nice day. "

Distractions distractions

Lately my dreams consist of an amalgamation of the massacres in Syria, and Gaza, with a little of Iraq thrown in for good measure, videos/articles/books manifesting into gruesome, graphic nightmares.
The creepiest part of these dreams, are the bits that flash to Vurld Leaduhs, gathered 'round the Round Table and plotting out the next assault in sterile, precise terms--unfettered by sympathetic, human consideration. Unaccountable, unstoppable. Then there's me, impotent, inexplicably connected to it all.

Others I've confided to, have told me the exact same thing: they've mentioned dreams of dying families, people suffocated in the rubble of shattered buildings, a kid waking up to find herself an orphan. Bits and pieces of the news we've read, the pictures we've seen, the history we know. Strange, isn't it, that people of all ages, are just as in tune to this madness, and just as affected?

When you wake up, the nightmare taints what would have otherwise been an ordinary day. Routine hangs around like unwanted dead-weight.  Like moths' carcasses, hanging in a spider's web, long-devoured, with only the wings remaining.
I feel so much is unnecessary trash, if it was shaken off, I'd find the answer. Some way to help, just a little. I asked so many people whether there was a way just to get Egypt to open its borders, stop sending back or stealing from aid, etc. Petitions? Rallies? Letters? What? I mean what more can you do??!?

So as catharsis, perhaps en route to summat constructive, I'm writing this out. That's how I used to think things out when I was younger, writing and a walk.

I don't feel anger, at all, just a deep urgency to H.E.L.P.

Sunday 20 July 2014

Meanwhile...

This is Shejaiyya in eastern . Pounded all night until a short truce so Palestinian medics could remove bodies.

What we saw: wholesale destruction, women running, headless man. Here, a medic calls out for survivors.

I won't post more graphic pictures because it won't help anyone.

Follow Rina Andolini on twitter or facebook if you want to read first-hand accounts and see pictures. She recounts how IDF kept up a barrage of bullets, shooting during the ceasefire.

Muslim world? I don't know if I believe in any kind of 'Muslim ummah' anymore.

In Kashmir, police opened fire (tear gas, baton striking, gunfire) on Kashmiris showing solidarity for Gaza in a protest. They turned round and killed a young boy who was not even taking part, as part of 'collective punishment.'

In Egypt, tear gas released on all the pro-Gaza supporters who also called for opening the borders to allow medical and food aid to get to Palestinians.

In Jordan, arrests for every protestor.
etc.

Poem

Any sane person can see that the 'warning calls' are sadistic, psychological torture inflicted just before an attack from which there is no escape.

Pro-Israelis, blinded as they are by frenzied patriotism and a racist ideology, hold this up as an example of Israel's humane war strategy.

Please see Mohammad Zeyara on fb for pictures of the carnage...dead children, streets running with blood. An army against civilians.
If the civilian fights back, which in the sane world we would call defense, he is held up as 'proof' of terrorism running rampant, needing to be extinguished.

 Who would justify this?
Where did we get to the point that we would sympathize with the oppressors?

Running Orders
by Lena Khalaf Tuffaha

"They call us now.
Before they drop the bombs.
The phone rings
and someone who knows my first name
calls and says in perfect Arabic
“This is David.”
And in my stupor of sonic booms and glass shattering symphonies
still smashing around in my head
I think “Do I know any Davids in Gaza?”
They call us now to say
Run.
You have 58 seconds from the end of this message.
Your house is next.
They think of it as some kind of
war time courtesy.
It doesn’t matter that
there is nowhere to run to.
It means nothing that the borders are closed
and your papers are worthless
and mark you only for a life sentence
in this prison by the sea
and the alleyways are narrow
and there are more human lives
packed one against the other
more than any other place on earth
Just run.
We aren’t trying to kill you.
It doesn’t matter that
you can’t call us back to tell us
the people we claim to want aren’t in your house
that there’s no one here
except you and your children
who were cheering for Argentina
sharing the last loaf of bread for this week
counting candles left in case the power goes out.
It doesn’t matter that you have children.
You live in the wrong place
and now is your chance to run
to nowhere.
It doesn’t matter
that 58 seconds isn’t long enough
to find your wedding album
or your son’s favorite blanket
or your daughter’s almost completed college application
or your shoes
or to gather everyone in the house.
It doesn’t matter what you had planned.
It doesn’t matter who you are
Prove you’re human.
Prove you stand on two legs.
Run.”

Distractions

My best friend told me it's unhealthy the amount of time I give to worrying about Gaza and I should devote myself to making:
1. paintings.
2. pies.
3. paintings of pies.

Meanwhile Perfection Personified wants to sing a song of sixpence...

Punished for Publicizing

This is the true face of Israel, as if the massacres and savage assaults weren't enough for the world to make up  its mind.

Cowards.

So as if murdering, harrassing, and beating (and denying the child of medical treatment for days) wasn't enough, now they decide to punish the family for publicizing the crimes.

Dude, your crimes are public enough. Social media bites you in the back, because now it's easier than ever to reveal the truth. Your own soldier instagramming pictures of a child before he shoots.

You render thousands of children orphans every few years, those who don't die that is. You imprisoned about 8,000 children since 2000 (fair trial? no trial for Palestinians). You use illegal chemical warfare, and new 'experimental' radioactive missiles.
You overturn Palestinian graves for God's sake!

You have pledged, since your creation, to destroy all Arabs. ALL ARABS.

Your PR service is great, you have the art of manipulating words and images down pat. You can tie the UN's hands, and get Obama (also a seasoned baby-killer) to kiss your putrid bloodstained palm.  But numbers don't lie. Footage doesn't lie.

And, remember, the Pharoah tried to kill every male infant among those he oppressed, as you have pledged to 'kill all Palestinian children' (and their mothers, for good measure), but Moses still survived.

Interview of an activist volunteering as a 'human shield' for hospital.
She dismisses the 'hamas/human shield' claim in a withering 'are you really that gullible' tone.

Red Cross hanging up on Gaza callers.

this is not recent...now death toll in Gaza is 336 according to the last report i read...

Motherly Musings

I didn't realize my own strength, before I became mother to a Sweetnik.

I didn't realize how much strength it takes to rouse oneself from a brief nap after, days of broken sleep, for one more round of carrying around a Kitten Love.

Nor what it takes to hold back the screams, after reading the same excuse for a story, for the umpteenth time to a Scholar-tot.

Or what it takes to pull a Glorious Youth off the swings after he's spent the entire time laughing (to the point of hiccups) with the good cheer normally reserved for a Santa Claus chugging down egg nog.

I can spend 3 hours in a crouching tiger position, attempting to feed a Rambunctious Joy/Cheery Chomper. Getting up only to prepare more dishes.
(I can spend hours making special dishes for him, only to have him dump the whole thing with a perfect left hook. The tears dried up many paye ago.).

If someone wants celeb gossip, I'm prepared to discuss the finer points of the Yellow Wiggle scandal. (This is how I chill). Last time I got a chance to have fun, it was to get the groceries. Treat. Yo'. Self

And so it goes on.

Don't Mourn--Organize!

Middle East almost seems like a lost cause. With Iraq's past and the new ISIS brutality, with Syria, with tyrants and leaders who can't do a thing for fear of attack.
My friend posted a video of Egypt's supposed aid to Gaza; it was mouldy rotten food. [EDIT: a reliable charity for emergency supplies, food parcels, etc.]
 It sounds hopeless.

I believe that boycott, letters to politicians, protests and rallies, and other types of active campaigning, may effectively help Palestinians. 'Drops of water can wear through a stone.'

With enough voices, if we are stirred from passivity, justice is achievable.

I read 10 points Hamas put across to Israel, for a 10 year truce. Not one point was illogical, impractical, or inhumane. In fact, it's a pretty decent outline for any beginnings for peace in the region.

This was rejected in favour of a ground invasion, tanks and all. (Phosphorus bombs, same stuff UK and USA have used on the Iraqi population, and another type of bomb which nobody is sure about but suspected to be radioactive material).
If Israel sincerely wishes for peace, why would they reject this?

Then there are videos of little kids getting arrested (Israeli supporters will deflect blame and suggest that the little kid was carrying a b-word--though none was found--there are 100+ Palestinian kids in jail right now). Hamas only requested these innocent people be released. That was one of the points for truce.

Israel talks about Hamas 'using human shields' when, hypocritically, it is the IDF which carries out this heinous practice. They also pull disgusting sh!t like this which gets largely ignored by mainstream news.
Then there's the disproportionate number of deaths which is disregarded...this isn't even false equivalence, it's plain BS and thanks to social media it's getting more scrutiny. Not that there's much to scrutinize, it's all pretty clear.

Boycotting is not useless. This article puts across good points. It is from 2009; it is a shame that it's still relevant.

(Here are some counter-points from Noam Chomsky though)

From the UN Economic and Social Council:
“business
enterprises shall not engage in nor benefit from war crimes,
crimes against humanity… other violations of humanitarian
law and other international crimes against the human
person as defined by international law, in particular human
rights and humanitarian law.”

I hope if you think you are up for boycotting, you will spread the word. It's easy to stick to a goal when people around you are doing the same.

Today we had to buy more diapers for Child of Gumption and Delight.
instead of Pampers or Huggies, we went for a Costco brand. Now I read that Costco is 'accepting, legitimizing and profiting from the occupation'--among other things--makes it all seem a bit hopeless.
I will try and search for alternatives in Canada, and update if I find them.

http://www.cjpme.org/TabbedEnhancedItemList.aspx?EITID=5&MNITEM=1000000366 <<in summation: almost everything! time to buy from the little guys.

There is an app called 'Buycott' linked here, which allows you to scan barcodes, for whichever cause you support (Free Palestine), it traces ownership so you can boycott Israel and stop financing the occupation, with greater ease.

As for makeup, it is my hobby and indulgence.
It's become a means of artsy-fartsy escapism, with instant gratification.

For something purely pleasurable, where I have so many alternatives at my disposal--why should I purchase from corporations that time and time again show support for the Israeli occupation, Israeli military research, etc?

And boycotts of cosmetic companies don't go unnoticed; Zionists have shown alarm over a boycott of Coty conducted in the U.A.E, according to a Bloomberg report.
They've vehemently called for their own boycott of LUSH Cosmetics.

Even if we can't personally persuade them to put down their guns, shove off their tanks, release the thousands of Palestinian children currently in prison without trial, and exterminate the sick, murderous, racist ideology they were brainwashed to uphold, why not do what they're willing to do and talk with our wallets?

If you agree with my admittedly rambling thoughts, I encourage you to share my posts that show alternative cosmetic brands to purchase from. You can just copy-paste the brand names, instead of linking the post, I really don't care one way or another for 'traffic.'

Or at the very least, give up Starbucks.

This Speaks Volumes

This speaks volumes about what a tightly-run ship the media is. Truth only as some want you to see it.

It's objectivity only when you remove Israel from historical context, responsibility, and give a one-sided account.

Dr Mads Gilbert, a Norwegian surgeon who is treating hundreds in Gaza:
"As a medical doctor, my appeal is don't send bandages, don't send syringes, don't send medical teams.
The most important medical thing you can do now is to force Israel to stop the bombing, and lift the siege of Gaza."

Safe Brands (Pt 2: Tentative - Mainstream Brands)

Part one here.

Mainstream/bigger brands are harder to figure out.

Obviously any company gobbled up by Lauder and L'Oreal, is now instantly out of the question.
NYX? Gross. MAC? I love you, but no. Stila? Cute but not worth it.
Clinique? Bai bai. Michael Kors? Nice 'fume but I can find a dupe.
The Body Shop? Turrah.

Technically irrelevant; I thought this was funny. From here

(The more I read about Mr Lauder's double-edged political activism, the more my tube of GWP Sumptuous mascara begins to resemble a missile.)

But for brands under LVMH? Well their associations are less clear. For instance, I have yet to read something as incriminating as this, about LVMH:
"L'Oreal has also awarded a $100,000 "lifetime achievement" award to a scientist at Israel's Weizmann Institute of Science in July 2008. The Weizmann Institute has been a major centre for clandestine research and development of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons on behalf of Israel's military with which it has close ties."

After reading as much as I could find about Japanese/Korean brands owned by KAO/AmorePacific/etc, I figured they're all clean of blood and shoved 'em all onto the list.
This be unknown territory for many buut usually they come out with the purdiest packaging, and innovations (like tubing 'scaras) that the rest of the world takes a while to catch up on. Here is a good post detailing some good Asian brands and products.

I'd be grateful, if anyone would ascertain whether these brands are absolutely not associated with Zionist proponents. Or if something doth/dothn't belong here, please do leave a comment.
Really, the only method I employed to get this out was hours of internet research fueled by soy milk coffee (a foul concoction indeed).

Highlighted are those brands which don't engage in animal testing either.

News: The missiles Israel is launching (link about how they just hit a hospital), apparently contain radioactive uranium (illegal) - confirmed by Palestinian Interior Ministry - the air gets polluted with it, and the survivors breathe it in -- so indirectly, they die still, just years later, from cancer. Bravo. Are they going to deny it as they did the phosphorus bombs? You betcha.

Ground invasion of Gaza has begun. Soldiers in tanks, against civilians. This is how war is conducted now.
