Sheida Powder Kohl

Powder kohl is the ancient blah blah blah.
You know.

Let the wafting novelty of exotic Oriental-ish cultures wash over thee with the scents of spices, lifting you off, yonder...yonder, I say! To where the swaying caravanserais sing songs of their kohl-ed lovers in voices husky and parched, voices that drift low, yea, low, even as the sidewinder snake ripples across ye golden dunes with grace (much) and PANACHE (ample)!

And uh, yeah.

Basically if you are into powder kohl of the traditional variety, or even the Guerlain-ripoff variety, I highly recommend Sheida kohls above EVERY other brand. Right now they are about $10 at Trade Secrets here in CanCan land. Original price was $20 (still cheaper than Grrrr-lain).

Here it be, making a striking figure indeed, lending a touch of mystic Eastern je ne sais quoi, to what would otherwise be a roomful of Littlest's toys and picture books.

Kohl posse

So Sheida. What makes it worth the money that would otherwise go towards something worthier (War Child, perhaps)?

It seems to irritate my sensitive eyes: not at all. This alone is enough to warrant a purchase. Believe you me!
A step above Guerlain which was quite irritating, and the Hashmi Surma thing which was ouchie-wawa!

It also comes in an array of beautiful colours (10 total).
The 'light green' shade makes a SPOT ON dupe for Fyrinnae Electric Stardust.
One can use it as an eyeliner/eyeshadow both. What else? Makes outer v thing a cinch. (Pull out of waterline, extending outwards in a little line. Then soften away with blending brush).
And it LASTS.
HERE is my noteworthy self, after hours of wear and a shower, demonstrating how well yon Sheida kohl clingeth.

Smashbox Icon base, with Fyrinnae Evocation (new) and Witchy Woodland Creatures, and nameless Dior brown shadow. But we're here for Sheida.

Miffed. Also: Sheida kohl!

You shall have to take my word for it that I didn't reapply.
'My word'--like that means much! After all, liars ABOUND, especially on the interwebz, where they have MUCH to gain, on their STAGGERINGLY POPULAR BLOG.

What else?

Oh, Fyrinnae totally reformulated their Evocation shade (of which I have raved about in 2 prior posts), so it looks...like a completely different colour. It's still...tolerable. In a dark, lavender-taupe way.

But this be just a warning, a soldier's alert if you will. From the highlands!

Left: Old Evocation (prettiousness) Right: New Evocation (Who what why?). Both over Pixie Epoxy
As it's an indie company we're talking about, sparse on the advertising budget, lemme balance out the mildly grumpy tone with une petite rave.

Fyrinnae's Nordic Angel blush is marvelous, natural, glow-y, slight sheen (no sparkle/glitter), just GREAT. It's what I have on in the picture up there. Also, as it's a loose pigment, it can be mixed into concealer for perfect peachy-toned colour correcting (what I have ALSO done in above pic). SACRE BLUE!

And here is Evocation again, with pals

6.20 AM you say? My, my. How the time flies!

 Tally ho, wot!

*it should also be noted that Fyrinnae kindly refunded my panhandling self on ye Evocation, seeing as I was quoiiite displeased weeth eet.
